How to find any screen with search (Ctrl+K)

Open search with Ctrl+K and get to a screen, a document number, a partner or an item by typing its name, including SAP Business One names.

On this page

In Nori you rarely need to walk through the menu. Press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac), type what you're looking for and press Enter.

Open search

There are three ways:

  • Ctrl+K or ⌘K from any screen.
  • The / key when the cursor isn't in a field.
  • The Search screens, numbers, partners… box in the top bar. On a phone it's the magnifying glass.

Use the arrow keys and Enter to move. Ctrl+Enter opens the result in a new tab, Tab jumps to the next group and Esc closes.

What it finds

Results come in groups:

Group What it brings
Menu The screens your user can open, by name, by menu path ("Inventory › Reports") and by their other names
Actions Create a document or record, open the register, go to the point of sale, change the theme, see the shortcuts
Documents and Payments By number: type F-102, 102 or the series and number
Business partners By code, name or tax ID
Items By code, name or barcode
Journal entries, G/L accounts, Employees and Deals By number, code or name, if you're allowed to see them

If what you type looks like a document number, documents come first. Each group keeps the same limits as its list: a salesperson only sees their own documents and deals.

When nothing matches, search offers Ask the assistant with what you typed. See What the AI assistant can do.

Why: in SAP Business One you find the screen in the menu and then the record inside it. In Nori both are searched from the same place.

SAP names work too

Each screen can be found by its Nori name and by its SAP Business One or everyday names. Some examples:

  • "Sales Quotation" or "Estimate" opens Quotes.
  • "A/R Invoice" opens Invoices.
  • "Purchase Order" or "PO" opens Purchase orders.
  • "Packing slip" opens Deliveries.

When a result was found by another name, search shows it next to the screen.

Pinned and recent

With search empty you see your Pinned screens, your Recent ones (screens and records you opened) and Quick access to create.

  • To pin a screen, hover over it in search and click the Pin screen icon. You can pin up to eight.
  • To drop a recent one, use Remove from recent; Clear removes them all.

Pinned and recent items are stored in your browser, per company and user. On another computer you start fresh.

Filter the menu

Above the side menu there's Filter menu. Type part of a name and the menu shows only what matches, with the same rules as search. To search document numbers and partners as well, click the hint below it to switch to search.

How the menu is organized

The menu follows SAP Business One's order: everyday work on top and administration at the bottom.

  • At the top: Home, Dashboards and Assistant.
  • Operations: Sales, Purchasing, Point of sale, Logistics and routes, Inventory, Production, Business partners and CRM.
  • Finance: Payments and banking, Accounting and SAT. Accounting and SAT only show with accounting turned on; SAT, only for Mexican companies.
  • People: Human resources and Payroll.
  • Analysis: Reports (Report builder, Aging, Print layouts and your saved reports).
  • Administration: Company, Users and security, Parameters, Catalogs, Customization, Integrations and Utilities.

Inside each module, the Reports group gathers its reports and the Setup group gathers the catalogs only that module uses (CRM pipelines, route types, production resources). What the whole company shares, such as series, users and currencies, is under Administration.

Keyboard shortcuts

Press ? to see all shortcuts. The most used:

  • Ctrl+N new record and Ctrl+S save.
  • Ctrl+B searches inside the current module.
  • F1 to F8 create documents: quote, order, delivery, return, invoice, credit memo, transfer and goods receipt.
  • Esc goes back to the list.

If you don't see…

  • A screen that does exist: your role lacks the permission to open it, or it depends on something turned off (accounting, a connected ERP or a Mexico-only module). Ask your administrator to check your role.
  • A document by number: salespeople only see their own documents. In branch mode, only those of your working warehouse's series.
  • Your pinned screens on another computer: they're stored per browser. Pin them again.
  • Record results: search needs at least two letters, or a number.
