How to customize a view or form
Hide, lock or require each field, column or table of a document or catalog, for yourself, for a role or for a user.

Each document (invoices, orders, purchasing…) and each catalog (partners, items…) can be adjusted to show only what the person entering it uses. A cashier doesn't need the project or cost center; a warehouse clerk shouldn't change the price.
Customize your view
- Open the document or record you want to adjust.
- Click the settings button on the toolbar, Customize view. The screen switches to Customizing view.
- Next to each field, line column or table there are three options:
- Hide: not shown.
- Read-only: shown but can't be changed.
- Required: can't save while it's empty.
- On documents, pick the Scope: Only this document type (for example, only invoices) or All documents.
- Click Save view. Go back leaves without saving.
Reset my view drops your changes and you go back to your role's view.
Customize for a role or a user
If you have the Configure role and user views permission, customization mode shows For:
- For me: only your user.
- For a role: every user with that role.
- For a user: one specific person.
Check Lock (the user can't change it) if no one in that role should change the view. If a user has their own view and you remove it, they go back to their role's view.
Why: in SAP Business One form settings are per user and anyone can change theirs. In Nori you set them once per role, and you can lock them.
Review every saved view
In Administration › Customization › Forms and views you see every saved view: screen, who it's for, how many fields are hidden, read-only or required, and whether it's locked.
- Filter by screen, by roles or by users.
- Customize opens the screen in customization mode with that view loaded.
- Reset removes a user's view; they go back to their role's.
- Delete removes a view. Check several to delete them together.
If you don't see…
- The Customize view button: your role lacks the Customize my views permission, or your role's view is locked.
- The For a role or For a user option: you need the Configure role and user views permission.
- Forms and views in the menu: it needs the same permission.
- The "Your role's view is locked" message: ask an administrator to change the role's view or unlock it.
- A field you hid on a document: check whether you saved with the All documents scope or only for that type.
