How to set up your sales pipelines
Create a pipeline from a template for your line of business, adjust its stages and probabilities, and set up loss reasons and tags.

A pipeline is the path a sale follows, from lead to won or lost. You can have several: one for wholesale, one for opening new points of sale, one for projects. Each deal lives in exactly one.
Create a pipeline
- Go to CRM › Setup › Pipelines and stages.
- Under Add a pipeline, pick the template closest to how you sell: Selling to businesses, Distribution and new points of sale or Projects and services.
- Click Create. Nori builds the pipeline with its stages and leaves you on the screen to adjust it.
You can also get there from the board: CRM › Sales pipeline › New pipeline.
Adjust the stages
On the pipeline screen (Set up):
- The pipeline's Name and Description.
- Days for "no activity": a deal that goes that many days without anyone logging anything is flagged on the board.
- Default: the pipeline new deals go to when you don't choose one (for example, deals created from the app or by an automation).
- Active: turn it off to stop using it without losing its history.
Each stage has:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Color and Name | How the column looks on the board |
| Probability | The percentage of the deal value that counts in the forecast |
| Meaning | Open, Won (closes) or Lost (closes) |
| Move here when | Moves the deal forward on its own when something happens with its documents: its quote is issued, the quote becomes an order, it is invoiced or the invoice is paid in full. With Only by hand, only you move it |
| Tip for the sales rep | A reminder the rep sees on the board while the deal is in that stage |
Use Add stage, Up and Down to arrange them, and Remove stage to delete one. Save when you're done.
Why: in SAP Business One, opportunity stages are a single list for the whole company. In Nori each pipeline has its own, and a stage can advance on its own with the quote, order or invoice you created in Nori.
Rules Nori checks when you save:
- There must be at least one open stage, and at most one won and one lost stage.
- Each Move here when option can be on one stage only.
- A stage with deals can't be removed: move its deals first.
- A pipeline with deals can't be deleted: deactivate it.
Loss reasons
When you mark a deal as lost, Nori asks for the reason. That way you can see later why deals are lost (the CRM dashboard adds them up).
- Go to CRM › Setup › Loss reasons.
- Some come ready: Price, Chose a competitor, No budget, No response and others. Add your own or deactivate the ones you don't use.
Tags
Tags let you filter the board and work as a condition or action in an automation (for example, "Expo 2026" or "Government customer"). Create them in CRM › Setup › Tags.
If you don't see…
- The CRM menu: your role has no deal permissions. Ask your administrator to grant them in Users and security › Roles and permissions.
- Pipelines and stages: you need the pipelines and stages permission, which usually only the CRM administrator has.
- A pipeline on the board: check that it is Active. Use Switch pipeline to choose which one to see.
- The deal moving on its own: check that the stage has its Move here when and that the quote is linked to the deal (see How to follow up on a deal).
