How to automate the CRM
Let the CRM schedule calls, notify the owner, send emails or WhatsApp messages and move deals when something happens, starting with the recommended automations.
Updated October 25, 2026
An automation has three parts: When (what happens), Only if (the conditions) and Then (what Nori does). It keeps every deal with a next step even if the rep forgets.
To set them up you need the Set up CRM automations permission.
Start with a recommended one
- Go to CRM › Setup › Automations.
- Under Recommended, pick one and click Use this one. For example:
- Call the day after a new deal.
- Follow up on the sent quote: a call 3 business days later.
- Deal without activity notice: after 7 days without activity, notify the owner.
- Recontact after 90 days: a lost deal leaves a call scheduled in 3 months.
- Open a deal for every new partner: every new customer or lead enters the default pipeline.
- The automation is added but off. Check what it does, adjust it with Edit and switch it on.
Create your own
- In CRM › Setup › Automations, click New automation (or Automate from the board).
- Give it a name that says what it does, for example "Call 3 days after sending the quote".
- Under When, pick the trigger:
| Trigger | When it runs |
|---|---|
| New deal | A deal is added, by hand, on the board or by another automation |
| Stage change | A deal enters a stage (pick which under Only if) |
| Deal won / Deal lost | It is won or lost |
| Deal without activity | The Days without activity you set go by |
| Follow-up overdue | A follow-up passes its due date without being marked done |
| Quote sent / Quote accepted | The deal's quote is emailed, or becomes an order or invoice |
| Invoice paid | The deal's invoice is paid in full |
| New partner | A customer or lead is created |
- Pick the pipeline (or Any pipeline).
- Under Only if, add conditions: stage, value, owner, tag, source, partner type or group. Choose whether All or Any must be met. Without conditions it always runs.
- Under Then, add one or more actions:
- Schedule follow-up: a call, task or meeting with a date for someone on the team.
- Notify someone: a notice in Nori and, if you want, by email too.
- Assign owner: to one person or rotating among several (it goes to whoever has the fewest open deals).
- Send email or Send WhatsApp: to the partner, its contact or the owner.
- Move stage, Add tag or Open deal.
- Notify another system: sends the data to a web address (webhook).
- To wait, enter the minutes in Wait (minutes). If the deal has changed stage by then, it doesn't run.
- Check Only once per deal if it shouldn't repeat.
- Switch it On and save.
Messages can use the deal's data: {{partner.name}}, {{contact.name}}, {{deal.title}}, {{deal.amount}}, {{deal.stage}}, {{owner.name}} and {{deal.url}}.
Email and WhatsApp go out through the channel your company connected in Integrations › Integrations center.
Check what it did
The automations list shows the Latest runs. Log shows every run, with the deal and the result of each action: done, scheduled, skipped (for example, because the deal already left the stage) or failed, with the reason.
Why: SAP Business One has no opportunity automations; they're built with alerts or custom development. In Nori you set them up on this screen and every run is logged.
If you don't see…
- Automations in the menu: you're missing the Set up CRM automations permission.
- A recommended one running: it's added switched off. Open it and switch it on.
- The WhatsApp or email sent: the log says the channel is not connected in Integrations. Connect it in the Integrations center.
- An action working with the "New partner" trigger: that trigger has no deal, so actions that need one fail. With that trigger, use actions like Open deal or Notify someone.
