Cash, check and card deposits
Take the cash of your cash counts and the checks you received to the bank, settle card vouchers with their fee and record a bounced check.
Updated on October 24, 2026
What you collect does not reach the bank right away. Cash stays in the register, checks in a drawer and card vouchers until the bank settles them. In Deposits you record when each one reaches your account, as in SAP Business One.
With accounting on it is in Accounting › Banks › Deposits; without it, in Payments › Deposits. You need a bank account and the Deposits permission (Supervisor and Administrator have it).
Before you start
- Add your accounts in Bank accounts. Mark one as default: transfers arrive there.
- In Catalogs › Tender types, check the class of each one: cash, transfer, check or card. A transfer can have its own bank account.
- When you collect a check, enter its bank, number and date.
Deposit cash
- Press Deposit cash, or Deposit to bank from a closed cash count.
- Check the cash counts whose cash you take. Nori suggests what each one still has to deposit.
- Pick the account and the date, and type the slip number. If you deposit less, type the amount.
You can also deposit an amount without cash counts.
Deposit checks
- Press Deposit checks. You see the checks you have not deposited.
- Check the ones on this slip and record the deposit.
Each check is deposited. A payment with a deposited check can no longer be canceled from the payment.
Settle cards
- Press Settle cards and filter by card, terminal or sale day.
- Check the vouchers the bank paid. You can settle only part of a day.
- Type what reached your account. Nori splits the difference into fee and VAT, and you can correct them.
Net, fee and VAT must add up to the vouchers.
Bounced check
Open the deposit and press Bounced check on the check:
- The payment is canceled and the invoices owe again.
- If the payment has a stamped payment complement, it is canceled at the SAT with the reason you pick.
- Record the fee the bank charged.
- The customer is flagged with their bounced checks. You see it in their account.
Cancel a deposit
Cancel deposit puts its checks, vouchers and cash back as pending. Not once you reconciled it with the bank statement (undo the reconciliation first), nor if one of its checks bounced.
Pending deposits
Three reports: Checks to deposit, Cards to settle (by age) and Cash not deposited. With accounting on, each one is compared with the balance of its account and shows the difference.
What you collected before Deposits reached your company does not show as pending: it was deposited outside Nori.
