How to search, filter and sort a list

Find records in any list with search, filters and column sorting, jump between documents with Ctrl+B and move through records with the keyboard.

On this page

Every list in Nori works the same way: search and filters on top, the table below. To select several documents and print, copy or invoice them at once, see The document list: filters and bulk actions.

Search

Type in Search… above the list. The table updates as you type. Partners are found by code, name or tax ID; items by code or name; documents by number, series or customer.

To find something without opening the list, use the general search (Ctrl+K). See How to find any screen with search.

Filter

  • Filter: on catalogs that have it, pick one of the catalog's saved views, for example items with a stock alert. All removes it.
  • User fields: if a user field of type list, yes/no or link is set to show in the list, it appears as a filter.
  • Document lists also filter by status, series, sales rep, payment form and dates.

Search keeps the filter you have set, and the other way around.

Sort

Click a column header to sort by it. Click again to reverse. The arrow next to the name shows the column and the direction.

Go to a partner's documents

In a document, next to the partner you'll see See their invoices (or the document's type: orders, deliveries…). It opens that type's list already filtered by the partner. The tag with their name above the list removes the filter.

Search inside a module (Ctrl+B)

With a document open, Ctrl+B puts the cursor in Search this module. Type a number, a series, the customer or the reference: results show as you type, with their total, date and status. See all results in the list opens the list with that search.

Move through records with the keyboard

Inside a document or a record:

Shortcut Does
Ctrl+Home First record
Alt+PgUp Previous record
Alt+PgDn Next record
Ctrl+End Last record
Esc Back to the list

Why: these are SAP Business One's record navigation arrows, on the keyboard.

If you don't see…

  • A record you know exists: clear the Filter and the user field filters, and check the search.
  • A filter for a user field: the field must be of type list, yes/no or link, and set to show in the list.
  • Other salespeople's documents: salespeople only see their own in the lists.
  • The New button: your role can't create that kind of record.
