Work the route and settle

What the sales rep does at each stop from their phone, the supervisor's live board, and settling the truck and the cash at the end of the day.

The sales rep on the road

Sales reps work from the Nori mobile app or from Route sales › My route in their phone's browser. Both follow the same rules.

  1. Start route: enter the change fund they're carrying. This opens their register, linked to the truck.
  2. At each customer, tap Arrived. Nori saves the time, the GPS location and the distance to the customer's address.
  3. Do what the visit calls for:
    • Sell from what's on the truck. The customer pays on the spot, or on credit if they have a credit limit.
    • Order for delivery on a later visit (presale).
    • Deliver order, in full or in part, with the option to Collect on delivery.
    • Pick up expired or damaged product and record the reason. It goes to the on-board returns warehouse and isn't resold.
    • Collect on open invoices. If you don't check any, the payment goes to the oldest ones.
    • Cooler / display: log maintenance with photos, temperature and the condition you left it in.
  4. Check out. If it was a sales visit and nothing sold, Nori asks for the no-sale reason.

To skip a customer, tap Skip this stop and choose the reason. When all stops are done, tap End the day.

No signal

Sales reps keep working offline. Everything they do is saved on the phone and sent automatically when the signal returns. Each operation carries its own key, so a resend never duplicates a sale or a payment. In the browser, photos still need a connection.

The supervisor during the day

Route sales › Day board refreshes every minute. For each route it shows completed vs. planned visits, sales vs. target, strike rate, on-time rate, the last visit and the next stop, all on a map with each route in its own color.

Settling at the end of the day

Routes waiting to be settled appear under To settle in Route sales › Settlements. You need the settlements permission to settle. The Supervisor and Administrator roles include it.

  1. Open the route and click Settle.
  2. For each item, Nori calculates what should be on the truck: opening stock plus loaded, minus sold and delivered. On-board returns are reconciled separately.
  3. Enter what was physically counted on the truck.
  4. Enter the cash and other payments the sales rep hands in, by payment method, against what their register expects.
  5. If there are differences, choose the Reason for differences.
  6. Decide whether leftover stock goes back to the distribution center (CEDIS) or stays on the truck for the next day's van sales.
  7. Click Confirm settlement.

Nori records everything in a single operation: shortages as a goods issue adjustment and surpluses as a goods receipt adjustment at average cost, the transfer back to the CEDIS, the returns sent to their destination warehouse, and the sales rep's register close with its cash count. The settlement keeps a snapshot of the day (items, visits, money and cash difference) that you can look up later.
