How to generate the SAT electronic accounting

Generate the chart of accounts and trial balance XML of Annex 24, and the journal entries and auxiliaries when the SAT asks for them, validated and zipped.

Updated October 25, 2026

On this page

Nori builds the Annex 24 XML files (version 1.3) from your books, validates them against the SAT schemas and zips them with the name the SAT expects. It is only available for companies with the Mexican localization.

What is sent and when

File When
Chart of accounts Once, and every time it changes
Trial balance Every month. Month 13 carries the year-end closing adjustments
Journal entries, Invoice folio auxiliary, Account auxiliary Only when the SAT requests them

Generate a file

  1. Go to SAT › Electronic accounting.
  2. Choose the File, Year and Month. For the closing trial balance choose the Closing adjustments month (13).
  3. For the trial balance choose the Submission: Normal or Complementary (with its Modification date).
  4. For journal entries and auxiliaries choose the Request type: Audit and Cross-check audit take the Order number; Refund and Offset, the Procedure number.
  5. Click Generate.

The file goes to Generated files with its period, records, who generated it and its Validation. Download it from there.

The files are unsigned: you sign them with your e.firma when you send them on the SAT portal.

Why: the journal entries carry the UUID of the stamped invoices and payments, because Nori links each CFDI to its entry when stamping and when posting.

Before the first trial balance

  • Check that all your accounts have a SAT grouping code in the chart. If any is missing, the validation tells you which.
  • Check that the company's RFC is right in the company data.
  • For month 13's trial balance, first close the fiscal year in period 13.

If something doesn't add up

  • "… generated, but it has errors": the file was generated but didn't pass validation. Open the detail in Generated files, fix and generate again.
  • "Accounts without a SAT grouping code": set it in the chart of accounts.
  • "The order number has three letters, seven digits, a slash and two digits": check the format, for example ABC1234567/12.
  • You don't see the screen: your company doesn't have the Mexican localization, accounting is off or your role lacks Generate and download the SAT files (electronic accounting and DIOT).
