On this page

The aging report tells you who owes, how much and since when. In Nori you run it at any cut-off date, like SAP Business One's aging report, with accounting on or off.

Run the aging

  1. Go to Reports › Aging.
  2. In Balances of choose Customers or Suppliers.
  3. Enter the Cut-off date. It defaults to today.
  4. In Aging by choose Due date (the usual one for collections) or Posting / document date.
  5. In Intervals (days) type the breaks separated by commas. The default is 30,60,90,120: not due, 1 to 30, 31 to 60, 61 to 90, 91 to 120 and over 120 days.
  6. In Layout choose Summary by partner or Detail by document.
  7. If you want, filter by Business partner, Group, Salesperson, Branch or Currency, and choose the Amounts in:
    • Local currency (document rate): what your books carry.
    • Convert to local currency at the cut-off date rate: to revalue dollar balances.
    • Original currency: each document in its own currency.

The report prints, downloads as PDF and exports to Excel or CSV.

How it works out a past date

At the cut-off date, each document has the balance it had that day:

  • Payments, applied credit memos, internal reconciliations and down payments dated on or before the cut-off count.
  • A document or payment cancelled after the cut-off still counts as active that day.
  • Documents dated after the cut-off don't show.

Paid down payments not yet applied and payments on account go in the Unapplied advances column, apart from the aged balance. The Net balance subtracts them.

Why: as in SAP, aging at a past date rebuilds that day's balances. That's why you can run it at the close of a past month and get the same figures you got back then.

From the total to the document

  • Click a partner's name to open their account statement at the same cut-off date.
  • Click an amount in the summary to see its documents, and a document to open it.

Against the books

With accounting on, Accounting › Reports › Aging shows the same report and compares it with the Ledger balance of the control accounts (customers or suppliers) at the same date. If it doesn't match, it shows the Difference per partner. It usually comes from opening balances, manual entries to the control account or documents dated before accounting started.

A partner's account statement

On the partner's record (Business partners › Customers and vendors), section Payment & credit, you see their Account status: balance, limit and available credit, and their open documents with days overdue.

  • Print or PDF: that section's print menu prints the statement with your layout. From the aging report it comes at the cut-off date you chose.
  • Share online: the Account statement button creates a link to the customer's public page with their pending documents, the PDF and the XML and, with Recaudo, the button to pay. Copy link copies it; Send sends it by email or WhatsApp.

If you don't see…

  • A document you know is owed: it is dated after the cut-off, was already paid at that date, or is in another branch or currency than the filter.
  • A customer credit inside the aging: payments on account and unapplied down payments go under Unapplied advances. Apply them to their invoices from the payment or in Internal reconciliation.
  • Send by WhatsApp or email: only the channels your company has connected in the Integrations center show.
  • A difference against the books: review manual entries to the customer or supplier account in Accounting › Reports › Subsidiary ledgers by business partner.
