Print layouts and SQL queries
Edit your invoice, ticket and register close layouts in the designer, import your Nori desktop layouts, and build your own reports with read-only queries.

Nori has two similar-looking tools with different jobs. Print layouts control how a printed document looks: the invoice, the ticket, the register close. SQL queries pull data you can't get from the standard screens, like sales by sales rep for a period or stock valuation.
Print layouts
Go to Administration › Print layouts. The list is grouped by context (invoice, quotation, payment, register close, item label…), and each context shows which layout is the default.
Bring over your Nori desktop layouts
Coming from Nori desktop? You don't have to redesign anything. Import the .repx file and Nori converts it to its own format, in the same context. Check the preview with a real document before you make it the default.
Edit a layout
- Open the layout designer.
- The controls are on the left: text, field, expression, image, logo, barcode or QR code, lines and tables. Drag them onto a band, or click to add them to the selected band.
- The Fields tab lists the data available in that context (the document, its lines and the company). Drag a field onto the canvas to show it.
- The right panel sets the font, alignment, borders and number or date format of the selected control. With nothing selected, it shows the page size, margins and whether the layout uses roll paper.
- Click Preview to see it with a real record, and Save when you're done.
Handy shortcuts: arrow keys to move, Shift + arrow keys to resize, Ctrl+Z to undo. You can copy controls from one layout and paste them into another.
Copies of sales on credit
In each layout's settings, Copies when the sale is on credit says how many come out when the invoice or delivery is left unpaid when saved (on credit). Set 2 if you want one copy the customer signs and the company keeps, and another for the customer. With 1, a sale on credit prints the same copies as a cash sale. It applies when printing from the document, at the point of sale and through the print agent.
If you want each copy to say which one it is, add a field with [Parameters.leyenda_copia] to the layout: the first one prints "Original — customer signature" and the rest "Copy — customer".
Once a CFDI (Mexico's e-invoice) is stamped, Nori always prints it with a layout that includes the fiscal folio and the SAT seal, even if the default layout doesn't.
SQL reports
You need the reports.sql permission to create SQL reports. Users with only reports.view can run them.
- In Report builder, click New report. The Data and SQL tab opens.
- Write the query. The table explorer sits next to the editor: click a table or field to insert it, or use View data to see 50 rows. The editor autocompletes table and field names.
- For filters, use parameters that start with a colon, such as
:fromand:to, and define them below: text, number, date, period, business partner, item, warehouse, branch or sales rep. Each one can have a default value like "this month". - Run a test to see the first rows.
- Generate table layout builds a tabular layout with a title, column headers and totals, which you can then adjust in the designer.
- In Roles, choose who can run the report. With no roles checked, anyone with permission to view reports can run it.
When you run it, the parameters form comes up first. From there you can view the report on screen, print it, or download it as PDF or Excel.
Limits
Queries are read-only: one SELECT or WITH statement. Nori rejects any write and blocks the users, passwords, certificates and settings tables. Each query has 15 seconds to finish and returns up to 5,000 rows.
Not sure which table holds what you need? Open the Data dictionary from Reports. It describes each table and field in Spanish. The Examples group has ready-made reports (sales by period and sales rep, receivables aging, stock valuation) that you can duplicate and edit.
