Getting started with Nori

How to sign in for the first time and get your company ready to sell with "Set up your company", step by step.

Updated on October 24, 2026

Sign in to your company

When your company signs up, the administrator gets an email with the company's Nori address, a username and a temporary password. Open that address in Chrome or Edge, enter your Username and Password, and press Sign in.

Change the temporary password as soon as you sign in. You'll find it in your user menu, at the top right.

Set up your company

The first time you sign in as an administrator, the home page shows Set up your company: a list of nine steps with your progress (for example, "4 of 9 done") and roughly how long each one takes. Press Continue to open the next step.

Nori checks off each step as soon as it finds the data. For example, if you upload your certificate from the invoicing screen, the invoicing step shows as done even though you didn't start from the list. You can do the steps in any order.

To remove it from the home page, press Hide from home. The list stays under Administration › Set up your company, so you can come back to it any time.

Only users who can change the company settings (the Administrator role) see it.

1. Company details

Legal name, RFC (Mexican tax ID), tax regime and address. These appear on your tickets, invoices and other print layouts. This is also where you upload your logo and pick your company color, which Nori uses for buttons and menus.

2. Invoicing

If you'll stamp CFDI invoices (Mexico's e-invoice, certified with the SAT):

  1. Upload your digital seal certificate (CSD): the .cer and .key files and their password. You download them from the SAT portal using your e.firma. Don't upload the e.firma itself: Nori rejects it.
  2. Choose which PAC (SAT-authorized certification provider) to stamp with. With Nori's PAC you don't sign any contract and pay $0.65 plus IVA per stamp on your monthly bill. If you already have a contract with Finkok, EDICOM, Solución Factible or ISI, choose My own PAC and enter your username and password on the invoicing screen.
  3. Review your series. Invoices, credit memos, down payments and payments are stamped with the SAT. If you don't have those series yet, press Create invoicing series.

If your company doesn't issue invoices, press I won't invoice. You can come back to it later.

The guide Stamp and download CFDI 4.0 invoices explains stamping in detail.

3. Branches and warehouses

Create one branch for each physical location and at least one warehouse for your stock. From the list, you only need the branch name and its warehouse name. Nori fills in the code.

If the company has several warehouses, Nori can ask each user to pick one when they sign in. Documents, series and stock default to that working warehouse.

4. Do you use an ERP?

Choose what you work with today:

  • No ERP: Nori is your system of record. When you choose this, Nori sets up the basics for selling: currency, 16% IVA, 0% rate and exempt, units, a price list, the "Cash" payment term, payment methods for the register, the "General public" customer and one series per document type. Then you enter or import your items and customers.
  • SAP Business One or NetSuite: Nori connects and pulls your catalogs from the ERP. Setup has three parts:
    1. Connect your ERP. Enter the access details (for SAP, the Service Layer URL, database, username and password; for NetSuite, the account and integration keys) and press Save and test connection.
    2. Choose what to pull. The checked options are the recommended setup. Anything that comes from the ERP is read-only in Nori.
    3. First sync. Press Start sync and watch each catalog's progress on the same screen. It can take a few minutes. You can keep working on other steps in the meantime.

If you picked the wrong answer, press Change answer. The guide Connect Nori to your ERP explains what Nori pulls, what it sends and how to check the sync.

5. Items and prices

Without an ERP, you have two options:

  • Import from Excel. Press Download template, fill it in and upload it with Check file. You see every row before saving. Rows with errors come first and tell you what to fix (a duplicate code, a price that isn't a number, a unit that doesn't exist). Press Import to save the rows that are ready. Existing codes are updated, so you can fix the file and upload it again.
  • Add them one by one from New item.

The template has code, name, price before IVA, barcode, unit (PZA, KG, LT, MT, CJA or SER), IVA (16, 0 or exempt) and SAT product code. Only the code and name are required. It also accepts CSV files.

With an ERP, this step is checked off when the sync brings in your items.

6. Customers

Same as items: import your customers from the customer template (code, name or legal name, RFC, tax regime, CFDI use, postal code, email, phone and address) or add them one by one. "General public" doesn't count. The step is done when you add your first real customer.

With an ERP, your customers arrive with the sync.

7. Users and roles

Press Invite a user to add each team member with their role (what they can do) and license type. The list shows how many licenses of each type you have and how many are available. Each active user uses one.

If you work alone, press I work alone. The guide Licenses and roles explains what each license type covers.

8. Point of sale

  1. Create a terminal for each physical register, with its branch and warehouse.
  2. Install the print agent on the register's computer and link it in Print stations. The guide Print stations and the print agent explains it step by step.
  3. From that same computer, press Print a test receipt.

If you don't use a point of sale, press I don't use the POS.

9. Mobile app

This step appears when your company has sales reps or routes. Scan the code with your phone to download the app. In Company, type your company name exactly as it appears in your Nori address, then sign in with the same username and password you use on the web. See Install and set up the mobile app for details.

Optional extras

Below the list you'll find shortcuts to features not every company uses: register payment methods, delivery routes and print layouts.

When you're done

When every step is done or skipped, Nori shows a short celebration and suggests next steps: make your first sale, invite your team and check your dashboards. Press Finish and the list no longer shows on the home page.

If you're moving from Nori desktop, ask your Nori consultant for a data migration. Nori brings business partners, items, prices and stock over from your current database, so you don't re-enter your catalog. Assisted implementation is optional and covers custom reports and print layouts, data migration and training.

Get around quickly

The side menu groups everything by module: Sales, Purchasing, Point of sale, Business partners, Payments, Inventory, Route sales, Reports, CRM and Administration. You only see what your role allows.

Press Ctrl+K to find a business partner, item or document without using the menu. Function keys open a new document from any screen:

Key Opens
F1 Quotation
F2 Sales order
F3 Delivery
F4 Return
F5 Invoice
F6 Credit memo
F7 Inventory transfer
F8 Goods receipt

Inside a document, Ctrl+S saves and Ctrl+N starts a new one. Press ? on any screen to see every shortcut. The point of sale, goods delivery and inventory count screens have their own shortcuts, so the F keys don't open documents there.

Next step

Once your register is set up, continue with Open and close the register and Sell at the point of sale.
