Batch traceability and production reports
Trace where a component batch went and where a product batch came from, and review cost and variances by order, consumption against the recipe and late orders.

Production reports are in Production › Reports. They all come from the orders' issues and receipts, with or without accounting.
Batch traceability
Use it when a component turns out bad and you need to know which product it ended up in, or when a customer complains about a product and you want to know which components it took.
- Go to Production › Reports › Batch traceability.
- Type the batch number and search. If several batches have that number (of different items), choose yours.
- Choose the direction:
- Where it went: the orders that consumed this batch and the product batches they made. If that product was used in another order, it keeps following forward.
- Where it came from: the order that produced this batch and the component batches it consumed.
Each batch shows its manufacturing date and expiry; expired ones are flagged. The same screen lists batches about to expire; the link to see all opens the inventory list.
Why: as in SAP, traceability is by order. If an order was received in several parts, all its batches point to everything the order consumed.
Cost and variances by order
Production › Reports › Cost and variances by order shows the orders closed between the two dates: what was produced, the standard cost, the actual cost (issued plus resources), what was received, the actual cost per unit, the variance and what was revalued into the product's cost. See How to close a production order.
Consumption vs standard
Production › Reports › Consumption vs standard compares, per component, what the period's closed orders used against what the recipe asks for what they produced, good and rejected, with the difference in quantity and value. It's how you see actual waste against the recipe's waste.
Open and late orders
Production › Reports › Open and late orders lists planned and released orders with their product, what is pending, the due date, the priority, the customer and how many days late they are.
In Production › Production orders, the Late filter also shows the ones past their due date.
Production dashboard
In Dashboards there is the predefined Production dashboard: orders by status and late ones, produced vs plan, the month's variances and the inventory it consumes.
If you don't see…
- "No production movements" in traceability: that batch didn't come in or go out through a production order (it came from a purchase or an adjustment, for example).
- "No orders closed in the period": the cost and consumption reports only take closed orders. Change the dates or close the finished orders.
- A batch you know exists: check that the item is batch-managed and that you typed the exact number.
