G/L account determination tells Nori which account each concept posts to when a document posts its entry. When you turn accounting on it comes filled with the accounts of your chart; here you adjust it.
Change a default account
- Go to Accounting › Setup › G/L account determination.
- Choose the tab: Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Taxes, Payments, Payroll or General. Each one explains at the top which documents use it.
- With View on Company defaults, change the Account of the Concept you want. Each concept has help saying when it is debited and when it is credited.
- Click Save.
Override the account by warehouse, group or payment form
- In View, choose the scope: By warehouse, By item group, By partner group, By payment form or By tax code. Only the ones that apply to the tab show up.
- Type the account on the rows you want to change. Whatever you leave on Default takes the company account.
- Click Save.
Examples:
- Sales by branch: in Sales, By warehouse, a revenue account per warehouse.
- Sales by VAT rate: in Sales, By tax code, one account for 16 %, 8 %, 0 % and exempt. The tax code's account wins over the item's.
- Government customers: in Sales, By partner group, their own customers account.
- One bank per payment form: in Payments, By payment form, the bank account each transfer or terminal lands in.
Set G/L accounts by
On the Inventory tab you decide what comes after the item: Item group or Warehouse.
Why: it is the same setting as in SAP Business One. The item's account comes first, then its group's or its warehouse's (in the order you choose) and the default last.
Accounts of the payment forms
In Payments, a payment form without its own account goes by its class: cash to Cash, checks to Checks to deposit, cards to Card settlements receivable and transfers to the payment form's bank or the default bank.
If something doesn't add up
- "The account for … is missing in G/L account determination" when saving a document: that concept has no account. Set it on the matching tab and save the document again.
- An account isn't in the list: only active accounts in use show up, never titles. Add it in the chart of accounts.
- You can't save: your role lacks Manage G/L account determination.
- You can't deactivate an account or turn it into a title: it is used here. Change it here first.
