How to check your company's backups

Nori backs up your company's database every night, encrypted and off the server. Here you see when the last backup ran and how to ask for a copy or recover information.

You don't have to do anything to back up your company: Nori does it every night. This screen tells you whether the last one went well.

See the status of your backups

  1. Go to Administration › Utilities › Backups. You need the settings permission (the Administrator role has it).
  2. At the top you see Last backup with its date and time, and whether it is verified.
  3. Below, Last verification says when the backup was checked to be readable. A new backup is checked in the next weekly verification.

If your company is new, the screen says Your first backup runs tonight.

What is backed up and for how long

  • Your company's database is backed up: catalogs, documents, payments, journal entries, settings, everything you enter.
  • Every backup is stored encrypted, apart from the server you work on.
  • How long we keep them shows how many days daily backups are kept, how many weeks the weekly ones and how many months the monthly ones.

Files you upload (attachments, photos, images) are kept separately in your company's file storage.

Ask for a copy or recover information

If you need a copy of your database or to recover something that was deleted, write to Nori support. Support restores the backup into a separate database, without touching the one you are using, and helps you recover what you need.

The Download copy button is not available from the screen yet.

Why: in SAP Business One your IT team schedules the SQL Server or HANA backup. In Nori it runs on the server and you only check that it is up to date.

If you don't see…

  • The Backups menu: you need the company settings permission.
  • Last night's backup: if the last backup is more than a day old, write to support. The Nori team gets an alert when a backup fails.
  • The "verified" mark: verification is weekly; a recent backup gets it in the next check.
